PROBLEM: Select a food truck business from a list and design a logo for the company. I chose “Sweet Waves” which is a high-end salt water taffy business on the coast in Newport, Oregon.
SOLUTION: There are many salt water taffy businesses on the Oregon coast, so I wanted to design a logo for Sweet Waves that is equal parts nostalgic, charming, and unique.
After creating a mood board and sketching ideas, I decided to combine a fish with a taffy wrapper for a whimsical yet refined combination logo. Pleasing coastal colors conjure visions of sea foam and the feeling of warm sand underfoot. Nautical stripes and waves are supporting visual elements. I also designed branded taffy packaging and a list of flavors.
